Tremron Home Additions & ADU: The Orlando Owner’s Guide

When Orlando homeowners ask us about Tremron home additions and ADU projects, the conversation usually starts the same way: they have an existing Tremron paver patio, driveway, or walkway, and they need the new structure to tie into it cleanly. The reality is that “Tremron home additions & ADU” isn’t a single product you order from a catalog. It’s a full build, whether that’s a detached ADU, a garage conversion, or a bump-out addition, that has to be engineered around the Tremron hardscape already on your property. In Orlando, a home addition typically runs $45,000 – $130,000, while an ADU lands between $90,000 and $220,000 depending on square footage, foundation work, utility runs, and how much of the existing Tremron surface has to be cut, matched, or repoured. What fails first isn’t usually the Tremron pavers themselves. It’s what happens underneath them: the base shifts, a retaining edge lets go, or the drainage that worked fine for a patio suddenly can’t handle the roofline of a new addition.

Which Tremron Models This Applies To

A wide opening with a new beam where the kitchen wall was removed

Tremron manufactures concrete pavers, retaining wall blocks, and segmental wall systems, and the Orlando market sees a lot of their Estate Stone, Holland Stone, and Bullnose paver lines in driveways and pool decks. The compatibility issue with additions and ADUs is not about a specific Tremron part number. It’s about whether the existing installation can support new loads and tie-ins. Here’s what we check on every Tremron-adjacent addition or ADU project in Orlando: the base depth under the pavers, the edge restraint, and whether the pavers were installed with a concrete collar or just sand-set along the perimeter. Older Orlando installs, particularly from the 1990s and early 2000s, often skipped the concrete edge restraint. That matters because a new addition changes water flow across the hardscape, and water is what eventually blows out a sand-set edge. If you’re extending a Tremron paver area as part of the addition, we match the existing paver series, but we always repack and re-compact the base rather than just laying new pavers next to old ones. The old base has already settled; the new base will settle at a different rate, and that seam will show within two seasons if it isn’t handled properly.

We’re an independent Orlando remodeling company, not a Tremron dealer or installer. We work with Tremron products because they’re common in this market and the pavers themselves are solid, but the structural work around them is what determines whether the addition settles or stays put.

Signs Your Tremron Home Additions & ADU Is Failing

  • Pavers pulling away from the foundation or slab edge. This usually means the edge restraint failed or was never installed correctly. Water gets in, the sand washes out, and the pavers start drifting. We see this constantly in College Park, where the older bungalows sit on 1950s slab-and-fill that moves more than newer construction.
  • Low spots or ponding water against the new addition. An addition changes the grade and roofline drainage. If water sits against the slab or foundation wall instead of running away, the base under the pavers is washing out a little at a time. This is the failure you don’t see until the paver starts sinking.
  • Cracks in the concrete collar or soldier course. The soldier course (the border row of pavers) and any concrete collar take lateral pressure. Once they crack, the rest of the field pavers start spreading. This gets worse fast after heavy Orlando rain.
  • Separation between the new addition slab and the existing hardscape. A new slab cures and shrinks slightly. If the Tremron area wasn’t tied to it with proper joint spacing or drainage, the gap opens and becomes a channel for water. It looks cosmetic for the first year, then the base goes soft.
  • Pavers rocking or clicking when you walk on them near the addition. Individual pavers moving underfoot mean the sand bed is gone and the base is starting to erode. That isn’t a paver problem. That’s a base failure, and it will keep spreading until the base is pulled and redone.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For an Orlando home addition in the Tremron context, you’re looking at $45,000 – $130,000 for the addition itself. That range covers a modest bedroom or office bump-out at the low end up to a larger family room or primary suite addition with a bathroom at the high end. An ADU runs $90,000 – $220,000, and the spread comes from site prep, utility connections, foundation type, and finish level. The Tremron-specific portion, which is the hardscape repair, matching, and re-installation around the new structure, usually adds $3,500 – $11,000 depending on square footage and how much of the existing base has to be excavated and rebuilt. We give you a written price before any work starts. That number includes the parts, the labor, the base material, the edge restraint, and any drainage corrections. If the price changes at any point, it’s because you changed the scope, not because we found something we conveniently forgot to mention. Every job carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing, which means if the hardscape or the addition work fails inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge.

DIY or Call Us?

You can check a few things on your own safely. Walk the paver area after a hard rain and note where water pools. Look at the edge restraint, the border course of pavers or concrete, and see if it’s cracked or pulling away. Run a level across the surface near the addition and mark low spots with chalk. That’s useful information for any contractor. What you should not do is start pulling pavers, cutting into the base, or repacking sand against a foundation wall without understanding the drainage profile. You can make a minor paver drift into a water-routing problem that sends runoff toward your new slab instead of away from it. The base work, the grade adjustments, and the structural tie-ins are worth paying a professional to do once. Trevor Nash has looked at enough Orlando additions to know which failures repeat, and most of them start with someone fixing the paver on top instead of the base underneath. Give you the number first, then pick up the tool. Call us at (850) 427-6454 and we’ll walk you through what you’re actually looking at, no charge for the conversation.
