Mr-Glass Fence Installation: The Orlando Owner’s Guide

If your Mr-Glass fence panel, post, or rail has cracked, warped, or pulled loose, we can replace it. A full Mr-Glass fence installation in Orlando typically runs $3,500 – $9,000 depending on linear footage, post condition, and whether we’re pulling old concrete footers. Most owners discover the failure the hard way: a gate that suddenly drags, a panel that hums in the wind, or a post that leans after an afternoon thunderstorm. The good news is this is a known product with predictable failure points, and we stock the common hardware on the truck.

Which Mr-Glass Models This Applies To

An open living space after a whole-home remodel

Mr-Glass manufactures glass fence and railing systems in a few distinct lines, and the hardware is not interchangeable across all of them. The two most common in Orlando backyards are the frameless glass panel system (panels held by aluminum or stainless spigot clamps at the base) and the framed post system (panels seated inside powder-coated aluminum posts with a channel). The spigot style uses a 12mm or 15mm tempered glass panel; the framed style generally uses a thinner 10mm or 12mm lite. Measure the glass thickness before you order anything. A 15mm panel will not seat in a 12mm spigot, and forcing it is how you blow out a $400 panel.

One compatibility gotcha we see regularly: Mr-Glass changed its spigot bolt pattern around 2018. Older installs have a 4-bolt base plate on a 3-inch center; newer bases use a 3-bolt triangular pattern. If you’re replacing a single post or spigot on an older fence, you’ll need to match the vintage or re-drill. We keep both patterns in the truck at Penhallow Remodeling Orlando. We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with Mr-Glass, but we’ve worked on enough of their systems in College Park, Baldwin Park, and Windermere to know which part goes where.

On the OEM versus aftermarket question: for spigots, base plates, and glass panels, we recommend Mr-Glass OEM parts. The aftermarket spigots we’ve tested have looser tolerances, and in Florida’s afternoon wind, a wobbly clamp turns into a cracked panel fast. For post caps and rubber gaskets, quality aftermarket is fine.

Signs Your Mr-Glass Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Panel hum or rattle in wind. The rubber gasket inside the spigot has compressed or dried out. Left alone, the glass edge taps bare metal, and that’s when stress fractures start at the corner.
  • Post lean after rain. The concrete footer was poured too shallow or too narrow for Orlando’s sandy drainage. We see this constantly in older installs where the footing didn’t go below the root zone.
  • White clouding around a spigot clamp. That’s not a cleaning issue. It’s micro-fracturing inside the tempered panel, usually from an over-tightened clamp or a shifting post.
  • Gate drag or latch misalignment. The hinge post has moved, or the gate panel has dropped a half-inch. A dragging gate puts torque on the hinge bolts and eventually strips them.
  • Water pooling at the base of a post. Aluminum doesn’t rot, but standing water corrodes the base plate bolts and accelerates electrolysis where stainless meets aluminum. In Orlando’s wet season, this is the silent killer.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A remodeled living room with built-in shelves around the fireplace

In Orlando, a full Mr-Glass fence installation with new panels, posts, and hardware runs $3,500 – $9,000. That’s a real range, not a teaser number. At the low end: a short run of 20 – 30 linear feet, existing concrete that’s sound, and a simple straight line. At the high end: 60-plus linear feet, rotted footers that need demo and re-pour, a gate with closer hardware, and a curved or stepped run. Every job gets a written price before we start. That’s the Kingswell standard, and it means the number we hand you is the number you pay.

Included in our price: removal and disposal of old panels and posts, new concrete footers where required, leveling and alignment, all spigot and channel hardware, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise on our workmanship. If the fence is out of plumb or a post shifts inside a year, we come back and fix it. Free. In writing.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely diagnose a few things yourself: check whether the panel wobble is from a dried gasket, confirm glass thickness with a caliper, and mark a leaning post with a level. What we’d steer you away from is pulling a tempered glass panel out of a spigot by yourself. Tempered glass carries a lot of internal tension. If the edge catches while you’re lifting, the whole panel can shatter into a thousand cubes in your hands. Gloves won’t save you. Neither will a rubber mallet on a mis-seated panel. Glass fence work is not like replacing a picket. If the post is moving, the glass is compromised, or the footer is sunk, call (850) 427-6454 and let one of our background-checked, uniformed techs handle it. Give you the number first, then pick up the tool.
