ECO Window Systems Bathroom Remodeling: The Orlando Owner’s Guide

If you have a bathroom with ECO Window Systems windows and you’re planning a remodel in Orlando, a full bathroom renovation typically runs $9,000 to $28,000 depending on the size of the space, the materials you choose, and whether the existing window needs reframing or replacement. We stock ECO Window Systems-compatible window trim, flashing, and seal kits on our trucks, and we can match the existing window profile during a remodel so the new wall finish lines up clean. Most Orlando homeowners call us after they’ve already pulled a permit and discovered the window rough opening doesn’t square up with the tile layout, or when the old window has started leaking around the frame and the remodel becomes the right time to fix it properly.

This page is built for the homeowner who’s mid-decision on a bathroom remodel and knows the window will either make the job look finished or fight the tile line every day. We’re an independent remodeling contractor in Orlando, not affiliated with ECO Window Systems, but we work with their window products regularly and know how they behave in Florida humidity.

Which ECO Window Systems Models This Applies To

A powder room with botanical wallpaper and a stone sink

ECO Window Systems manufactures vinyl and aluminum frame windows in a range of single-hung, horizontal slider, and fixed picture configurations. In Orlando’s older homes, the horizontal sliders are the ones we see most often in bathrooms – usually a 24×36 or 28×36 opening set high on the wall above a tub or beside a shower stall. The critical thing to know before a remodel starts is the frame depth. ECO Window Systems frames come in a few different jamb depths, and if your new tile backer board plus tile plus waterproofing layer changes the wall thickness, the window jamb extension has to be refabricated or you’ll get a visible seam where the old trim used to sit.

Second compatibility gotcha: the weep holes on the exterior bottom rail. If the window sits below the new showerhead and you’re adding waterproofing membrane around the opening, those weeps must stay clear or water backs up inside the frame and rots the sill from the inside out. We’ve corrected that in College Park bungalows where a previous remodel sealed the weeps shut with caulk and the window started sweating into the drywall within a year. Trevor Nash has pulled enough of those apart to know exactly what to look for before tile goes up.

Signs Your ECO Window Systems Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

  • Condensation between the panes: The thermal seal has failed. In Florida, the daily humidity swing will make that fog permanent, not seasonal. If you still have the original window, this is the signal to address the glass while the walls are open.
  • Soft drywall or bubbling paint below the window: Water is getting past the exterior seal or the weep holes are blocked. In an Orlando bathroom remodel, this is the single most common failure we find after the old tile comes off.
  • The window no longer slides smoothly: The track has collected years of soap scum, hard water mineral buildup, and bathroom humidity corrosion. Forcing it only bends the track and makes the next service call more expensive.
  • Visible daylight around the frame indoors: The original flashing or the rough opening seal has shifted. If you see light, you’re also moving conditioned air out of the bathroom and tropical air in – which feeds mold inside the wall cavity.
  • Tile cracks radiating from the window corner: The wall framing around the window has moved, or the original install didn’t allow for expansion. That corner crack will telegraph straight through new tile if the substrate isn’t repaired first.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A remodeled hall bathroom with patterned floor tile and painted walls

A bathroom remodel in Orlando that includes one ECO Window Systems window replacement or reframing typically lands between $9,000 and $28,000 depending on square footage, whether you’re converting a tub to a walk-in shower, and what the wall framing looks like once we open it up. A smaller powder room or a guest bath with a straightforward window in good condition will sit near the bottom of that range; a primary bath with a window that needs reframing, new waterproofing, and custom trim work will push toward the higher end.

The window-specific portion of the project usually breaks down like this:

  • Window reframe and new flashing: $400 to $1,200 depending on framing condition.
  • New ECO-compatible jamb extension and interior trim: $150 to $450.
  • Glass replacement only (if the frame is sound): $250 to $800 per sash.
  • Full window replacement with ECO-compatible unit: $600 to $1,600 installed, depending on size and whether it’s tempered glass (required if the window sits low enough to be within 5 feet of the tub or shower floor).

Every price above is written in the proposal before we start. You’ll see the exact window line item, the exact labor, and the exact total on paper. Our work carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the window leaks or the tile around it fails inside the first year, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s The Kingswell Way, and it’s been the standard since 2004.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check the weep holes yourself from outside: if you see paint blocking the drainage slots, that’s a conversation to have with us before tile goes up. You can also inspect the interior drywall below the window for softness and note whether the glass is fogged. What you should not do is attempt to reframe a bathroom window opening or reflash it as part of a DIY remodel. The waterproofing details around a window in a wet-area wall – especially one that sees direct shower spray – are the difference between a remodel that lasts 20 years and one that rots out from the inside in five.

If you’re retiling around an existing window and the frame is moving, the rough studs are rotted, or the old flashing is compromised, call (850) 427-6454. We’ll take a look before you’ve committed to tile, and you’ll get a written price for the fix before anyone picks up a tool.
