Jerith Driveway & Pavers: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
Jerith driveway and paver repairs in Orlando typically run $3,500 – $18,000 installed, depending on whether we’re resetting a few sunken pavers, replacing a section of the base, or rebuilding the whole driveway with new materials. We stock common Jerith-compatible pavers and edge restraints on the truck, and most paver repairs can be scheduled within a few days of the estimate. The usual discovery goes like this: you notice a low spot where water pools after rain, or a paver shifts underfoot, or the edge row starts creeping outward into the lawn. What started as a cosmetic issue is almost always a base problem underneath, and Orlando’s rain and sandy soil speed that process along faster than most people expect.

We’re an independent Orlando service provider, not affiliated with Jerith. That said, we work with their products regularly enough to know what fails and what doesn’t.
Which Jerith Models This Applies To

Jerith’s paver and driveway product line spans residential walkways, pool decks, and driveway surfaces, and the compatibility question comes down to two things: the paver profile and the edging system. Measure the paver thickness with a tape measure, because Jerith driveways in Florida are commonly built on 60mm pavers (roughly 2⅜ inches) while walkways sometimes use 40mm. Mixing those thicknesses on a driveway is a mistake we see from previous contractor shortcuts, and it’s why a section can sink while the rest of the surface stays put. The second identifier is the edge restraint: Jerith installations typically use an aluminum or PVC edge that rotates to match the paver profile. If your edge is caked in soil or partially buried, you can check whether it says “Jerith” on the exposed lip or look for the part number stamped near the corner.
For replacement materials, genuine Jerith pavers are made to match your existing color and profile, but if the original line is discontinued or backordered, we can frequently pull a like-for-like from Belgard or Unilock, two brands we source from, that matches within an acceptable tolerance on a Florida driveway. That conversation matters more in Orlando than in drier climates because color fade from UV exposure is real here. A brand-new paver next to a sun-bleached one will be visible, so we always bring a sample or do a physical match before we commit to anything.

Signs Your Jerith Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Low spots that hold water after a rain. This is usually the first symptom, and in Orlando it’s a fast-moving one. Standing water means the sand base underneath has washed away, and every rain cycle after that makes the problem deeper.
- Pavers that rock or shift under your foot. Loose pavers mean the edge restraint has let go or the sand joints are gone. If the sand isn’t locked in, water gets underneath and the pavers move independently, which breaks them down over time.
- The outer row creeping into the lawn or garden bed. Once the edge restraint fails, nothing holds the perimeter. Driveways are built to spread weight outward, so a failed edge creates visible spreading within a few months of the first crack.
- Weeds or grass growing up through the joints. A few weeds is normal wear, but persistent growth means the joint sand has washed out and organic material has replaced it. That’s not a weed problem, it’s a drainage and base problem, and it’s most common against Orlando’s summer rain pattern.
- Cracks running through pavers, not just between them. A cracked paver that’s still seated is a material failure. A cracked paver that’s also sunk is a sign the base never got compacted properly, which means the failed paver is a symptom of a much bigger issue under the surface.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Paver driveway installation in Orlando runs $7,000 – $18,000 depending on square footage, access, and whether the existing base is salvageable. A paver patio is smaller and typically lands between $3,500 and $11,000. For a repair, not a full rebuild, you’re usually looking at a day-rate job that includes excavating the failed section, rebuilding the base, re-setting the pavers, and re-sanding the joints. If we can reuse your existing pavers, material costs drop significantly; if we have to replace them, the paver price per square foot plus freight is the variable.
What drives the number up or down in Orlando specifically: how close the site is to an accessible dump area for excavated base material, whether tree roots have grown under the failed section, and whether the original base was built with road base or just sand. Sand-only bases under Central Florida driveways are common and one of the biggest reasons they fail faster than they should. A proper base rebuild with compacted road base is part of our written quote, not an optional add-on. And because we’re Penhallow Remodeling Orlando, the number we write down before work starts is the number you pay, with the 365-Day Done Right Promise behind it in writing.

DIY or Call Us?
There are a few things worth checking before you call anyone. Look at the vertical edge of the driveway where it meets the lawn. If you can see the plastic or aluminum edge restraint pulling away, that tells you the system failed at the perimeter, not just in one spot. Check for ant hills at the joints, which is a Central Florida signature problem; fire ants will excavate through paver joints and undermine the base faster than most weather. And you can pull one of the sunken pavers to see what’s underneath. If you find more than four inches of sand below it, the base was never built to handle Orlando’s rain, and no amount of re-sanding is going to fix it.
What we don’t recommend on your own is cutting pavers to fit a section or rebuilding the base without compaction equipment. A hand tamper doesn’t produce the compaction a driveway needs, and cut edges that don’t match create a load imbalance that cracks the replacement pavers within a year. It’s the same reason we don’t send a homeowner after this with a YouTube tutorial and a bag of polymeric sand. FAQs

A Jerith paver driveway with a properly compacted base should last 20 – 25 years in Orlando before the pavers themselves start to show serious wear. The base usually fails before the pavers do, and when it fails, the surface fails with it. Weather here accelerates base erosion, especially if the driveway doesn’t have a positive slope for drainage. A driveway that pools water after every storm can lose years off its service life because the sand base washes away from underneath.
Yes, most paver failures are repairable, and the repair usually costs less than 30 – 40% of a full replacement. What matters is what caused the failure: a failed edge or a localized low spot can be cut out, re-based, and re-set. But a widespread base failure, where pavers are sinking across most of the driveway, is a job where multiple patches end up costing more than a single proper rebuild, and we’ll tell you that straight. Call (850) 427-6454 and we’ll give you an honest read on whether repair makes sense.
Most paver repairs in Orlando are a one-day job: excavate, rebuild the base, re-set pavers, re-sand joints. Larger sections or a full driveway rebuild typically take two to three days. We give a defined arrival window before the job starts, not a vague “we’ll be there sometime” range, and our technicians show up in uniform with the equipment the job needs.
We don’t stock full Jerith product lines, but we do keep common 60mm pavers in neutral colors and matched edge restraints on hand for repair work. For exact Jerith color matches, we source from the manufacturer or one of our trade partners, and that typically adds a few days to the job. We also work with compatible pavers from Belgard and Unilock, along with parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone on the remodeling side. If we don’t have it on the truck, we’ll tell you before we schedule the repair, and we’ll have it ordered before we arrive.
