Therma-Tru Fence Installation: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
Therma-Tru fence installation in Orlando typically runs $3,500 – $9,000 installed, depending on the fence panel line, linear footage, and what’s happening with the posts and gate hardware. We stock Therma-Tru-compatible fence components and can usually get a crew to your property within the week, not the month. Most Orlando homeowners call us because a section of fencing has started to lean after a summer storm, a gate has sagged off its hinges, or the bottom rail has begun rotting where sprinkler overspray hits it every morning.

Here’s the part most people don’t realize until they’re standing in the yard with a tape measure: Therma-Tru fence systems are not one-size-fits-all. The post spacing, panel dimensions, and rail profile vary by series, and mixing components from different lines leaves you with visible seams and a weaker fence. We match the replacement to what’s already in your yard, or quote you a full replacement if the existing fence is too far gone.
Which Therma-Tru Models This Applies To

Therma-Tru’s fence line spans a few distinct product families. The most common we see in Orlando backyards are the private vinyl fence panels in 4-foot and 6-foot heights, along with the semi-private versions that leave a small gap between pickets for airflow. We also handle Therma-Tru’s ornamental composite fence panels and post caps, which show up more often in HOAs around Dr. Phillips and Winter Park.
The compatibility gotcha: Therma-Tru fence panels are engineered for specific post profiles. The bottom rails and picket locks on a 6-foot privacy panel will not seat cleanly into a post from a different series, even if both look white from ten feet away. Before any installer tells you they can “make it work,” have them check the stamped code on the inside of a post or the underside of a top rail. We do this on every visit because guessing wrong means a wobbly fence and a warranty that the manufacturer won’t honor.
You have two choices when a section fails: OEM Therma-Tru parts or quality aftermarket equivalents. OEM is exact match on color and profile, but it costs more and sometimes takes longer to source, especially on the ornamental lines. Aftermarket works when the fence is older or you’re replacing a full run where a slight shade difference won’t matter. We’ll price both and tell you which one makes sense for the age and condition of your fence. We’re an independent service provider, not a Therma-Tru dealer, so our recommendation is based on your yard, not a brand agenda.

Signs Your Therma-Tru Fence Installation Is Failing
- Leaning panels at the ends of runs. This usually means the terminal post wasn’t set deep enough or the concrete footer has cracked. In Orlando’s sandy soil, posts need to go 30 – 36 inches deep, not the 24 inches a lot of installers get away with up north.
- Sagging gate that scrapes the ground. The hinge side post has shifted, or the gate frame screws have stripped out of the post. With Therma-Tru’s composite gate frames, you can’t just throw in a longer screw and call it fixed; the frame often needs to be re-hung with proper reinforcement.
- Pickets popping out of the bottom rail. This is a rail lock failure, and we see it constantly after wind events. The good news is this is often repairable without replacing the whole panel if you catch it before the rail itself warps.
- Discoloration or streaks that don’t wash off. Central Florida’s humidity and the tannins from oak trees will stain light-colored vinyl over time. This is cosmetic, but it tells you the surface has started to hold organic material, which accelerates UV breakdown.
- Wobbly posts with visible cracks at the base. Hairline stress cracks in the post mean the material has been flexing too long. Once that starts, a strong storm can snap the post at the soil line, which turns a $400 repair into a full panel and post replacement.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For a typical Orlando property, a single post and re-hung panel runs $400 – $900. A full fence installation with new posts, panels, and gates starts at $3,500 and runs up to about $9,000, depending on linear footage, panel height, and whether you need permits and setbacks verified with Orange County. The biggest cost drivers are post setting depth (deeper is better here, and it costs more), gate count, and whether we’re hauling away the old fence material.

Every quote includes the parts, labor, concrete, gate hardware, and disposal. We give you a written price before any work starts, so the number you approve is the number on the invoice. All work carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something fails in the first year because we installed it wrong, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s in writing, on every fence job, same as it is in our remodeling work. We also pull permits when Orange County requires them and pay close attention to the property line and easements, because a fence on the wrong side of the line is a six thousand dollar problem.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things on your own: look at whether the posts are straight, wiggle a few pickets, note where the gate catches. That information helps us quote the job more accurately over the phone. What you don’t want to do is pull out a post and re-set it yourself. Digging 30-plus inches in Central Florida means dealing with sandy soil that wants to cave in, and a post set at the wrong depth will fail in the next named storm that passes through. We’ve also seen homeowners sever irrigation lines and, on two occasions, hit unmarked cable lines trying to set posts in a hurry.
If the fence is leaning, separating at the rails, or the gate won’t close, call us at (850) 427-6454. We’ll walk through what you’re seeing and give you an honest take on repair versus replace. The estimate is free, and you’ll get a written number before we touch the fence.
FAQs

A properly installed Therma-Tru vinyl or composite fence lasts 20 – 30 years in Central Florida if the posts are set deep enough and the fence stays out of standing water. The UV exposure here is brutal on lighter colors, so you may see cosmetic fading around year 8 – 10 even though the structure is still sound. Call (850) 427-6454 and we’ll take a look at what’s actually wearing out on your fence.
Most of the time, you can repair a single post or panel without replacing the whole fence, as long as the manufacturer still makes that series. If the line is discontinued, we’ll price a compatible aftermarket panel or a full replacement and let you decide. The estimate is free, and you’ll have the numbers in writing before you commit.
A single post and panel replacement is a half-day job, including concrete cure time for the new post. A full fence installation on an average Orlando lot takes one to three days, depending on length and gates. Call (850) 427-6454 and we’ll give you a realistic timeline for your specific yard.
We stock common white vinyl panels, posts, rails, and gate hardware on the truck for the most common Therma-Tru series, plus aftermarket components that match. Ornamental and specialty colors usually need to be ordered, which adds three to seven business days. Call (850) 427-6454 and we’ll check what’s available for your fence line before we schedule the visit.
