Owens Corning Fence Installation: The Orlando Owner’s Guide

Owens Corning fence installation in Orlando typically runs $3,500 – $9,000 installed, depending on linear footage, post-set depth, and whether we’re replacing failed sections or running an entire perimeter. We stock Owens Corning-compatible rails, pickets, and post caps, and most straight-section repairs go in same-day once we’ve matched your profile. The usual tell is a post lean after a storm, followed by a sagging rail that’s pulled loose from the bracket – once the post footing loses its bite in sandy Orlando soil, the rest follows within weeks.

We’re an independent Orlando contractor, not an Owens Corning dealer or affiliate. That distinction matters because it means we recommend the fix that actually fits your situation, not the fix that clears shelf space. If a section can be saved with proper post resets and new brackets, we’ll tell you that. If the vinyl has gone chalky from nine years of Florida sun and you’re better off replacing the run, we’ll tell you that too, with a written number either way.

Which Owens Corning Models This Applies To

A whole-home remodel with the living, dining and kitchen areas opened up

Owens Corning fencing in Orlando falls into a few recognizable families: the Weatherbeater series (the most common we see in College Park and Conway ranch homes), the ProLine line (heavier extrusion, used a lot on Orlando’s newer subdivisions), and the occasional older DuraLife run from the mid-2000s. The compatibility gotcha most homeowners run into is that Weatherbeater posts and rails don’t interchange cleanly with ProLine components, even though both carry the Owens Corning name. The extrusion thickness differs by roughly a thirty-second of an inch, which is enough that a ProLine rail won’t seat flush in a Weatherbeater bracket.

To identify exactly what you’ve got, look for a small stamped code on the inside face of your bottom rail, near a corner, or on the cap itself. If the stamp has faded (which happens fast in sun), measure the rail width across the top flat. Weatherbeater rails run 1.5 inches wide at the flat. ProLine runs 2 inches. That measurement alone saves us a wrong-truck visit, and saves you a service call that shows up useless. We also work with quality aftermarket equivalents that match the Weatherbeater profile when OEM is backordered, but we’ll tell you before we swap. If the fence is under an Owens Corning transferable warranty, aftermarket parts may void it, so we’ll check that first.

Signs Your Owens Corning Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Post lean after rain. Orlando’s double-whammy is sandy loam over a high water table. Posts set in bare soil without concrete collars will start to drift within three to five years. If your post top has moved more than half an inch off plumb, the footing is losing its grip.
  • Rail sag between posts. This is almost always a blown bracket, not a weak rail. The L-bracket that carries the bottom rail shears at the post face. You’ll see the rail drop on one end and sit lower on one side than the other.
  • Fluttering pickets in wind. Owens Corning pickets lock into a top-and-bottom channel. When that channel cracks (and the top channel is the one that cracks first), the picket loses its seat and rattles. Orlando’s afternoon thunderstorm gusts expose this fast.
  • Chalky or brittle-cracked panel surfaces. UV degradation isn’t just cosmetic. Vinyl that’s gone chalky has lost its flex. A chalky picket will crack instead of bend, and a cracked picket has zero wind resistance left.
  • Gate dragging or latch coming open. Most Orlando fence gates fail at the hinge post, not the gate itself. The post loosens, the gate drops, and the latch no longer lines up. If you’re lifting the gate to get it shut, the post is done.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A remodeled family room with new windows and a window seat

For Orlando, a full Owens Corning fence installation on a standard suburban lot runs $3,500 – $9,000. On the low end, you’re at a post-and-rail repair with a few pickets swapped. On the high end, you’re pulling an entire perimeter, resetting posts in fresh concrete, and running new rails and pickets. The biggest drivers on price: post spacing (tighter spacing costs more up front but survives storms better), gate count (each gate needs its own hardened hinge post), and whether existing posts can be reused (if a post is cracked at the footing, it’s a pull-and-reset at roughly $180 – $320 per post including concrete removal).

Our written number includes every part, every post, disposal of the failed material, and labor. It also includes our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if a post shifts, a bracket fails, or a gate starts dragging inside a year, we come back and make it right at no charge. That’s in writing before any work starts, not a verbal handshake. Give you the number first, then pick up the tool.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check post plumb with a level, inspect corners for rail drop, and photograph stamp codes or failed brackets. Those three things tell us 90% of what we need before we show up. What you shouldn’t do is dig out and reset a post in Orlando soil yourself, especially near a corner post, which carries the tension of two runs. If you’ve got irrigation lines running along the fence (very common in Orlando’s newer HOA neighborhoods), a shovel goes through a line faster than you’d believe. That’s a $400 repair on top of the fence work.

If the rail or picket is cracked through, the safe move is to call us at (850) 427-6454. We’ll get the exact profile code, give you a written price, and schedule a real arrival window. No surprise numbers after we dig.
