Delta Fence Installation: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
Delta fence installation in Orlando typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 installed, depending on panel count, post depth, and whether we’re pulling an old fence or starting fresh. Most Orlando homeowners call us after a storm, a rotted post, or a gate that’s started dragging, and in most cases we can schedule an estimate within the week. The failure usually shows up in one of three places: the post-to-ground connection, the hinge hardware, or the picket fasteners.

What separates Delta fence work from the generic stuff is how the panels seat into the posts. The Delta system uses a routed channel rather than surface-mounted brackets, which means the panels slide in and lock. When that channel cracks or the post shifts, you can’t just slap a bracket on it and call it done. The fix has to respect how the system was built in the first place.
Which Delta Models This Applies To

We work with the Delta Vinyl Classic series, the Delta Privacy Pro line, and the Delta picket-gate kits that get sold through the big-box supply houses in Orlando. The compatibility gotcha with Delta is the panel-to-post channel width. Delta’s current line uses a 1.5-inch routed channel; older Delta panels from before roughly 2016 used a narrower 1.25-inch seat. If you buy a replacement post off the shelf and it’s the wrong channel width, the panel won’t seat flush, and you’ll end up shimming something that was never meant to be shimmed.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question, we’ve installed both. Delta’s OEM posts and rails hold up well, but the vinyl gate hinge kits are where we lean toward the aftermarket and heavier-duty equivalents. The stock hinges are fine for a 4-foot gate; once you get to a 6-foot gate or wider, Florida wind and daily use wear them out fast. We’ll tell you that before we order parts, because paying for OEM hinges twice is worse than buying the better hinge once.

Signs Your Delta Fence Installation Is Failing
- Gate sagging or dragging at the latch. This is almost always a hinge pull or a post starting to lean. The hinge screws lose their bite in the vinyl post, and the gate drops a quarter inch. Over time that misalignment tears up the latch plate.
- Pickets rattling or lifting in the wind. Delta pickets sit in a bottom and top rail channel. When the top rail channel flexes or a post twists, the pickets get play. You’ll hear it before you see it, especially during Orlando’s afternoon thunderstorms.
- White chalky residue on your hands when you touch the fence. That’s the vinyl surface oxidizing. It doesn’t mean the fence is dead, but it usually means the rails and posts are old enough that the fasteners inside are corroding.
- Post movement when you push on it. A Delta post should not rock. If it does, the post is either under-set or the concrete collar at the base has cracked. Florida’s sandy soil and wet season make this the most common failure we see in Orlando yards.
- Bottom rail cracking at the post junction. This happens when a post leans just a degree or two and the panel can’t flex. The rail takes the stress, and vinyl cracks along the stress line.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Delta fence installation in Orlando lands between $3,500 and $9,000 for a typical residential job. The variables are linear footage, how many corners and gates are involved, and whether the old fence has to be hauled off. A straight 100-foot run with one gate on flat ground sits near the bottom of that range. A 200-foot job with two gates, post extraction, and a slope to manage runs toward the top.
Our written estimate breaks out parts and labor separately, so you can see exactly what the Delta panels, posts, and hardware cost versus the installation. Every Delta fence job includes a written price before we start and the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something fails within that year, we come back and fix it at no charge. We also pull the old fence and leave the yard clean, which is part of The Kingswell Way we operate under. Let me be clear: the number we hand you is the number on the invoice, not a starting point.
DIY or Call Us?
Setting a Delta post in Orlando is not like setting one in Ohio. Our soil drains fast, which sounds good until you realize a post hole that doesn’t hold water also doesn’t hold a post unless it’s set deep and the concrete collar is right. We set posts 30 inches deep, which is below the layer most DIY installers reach with a rental hand auger. For a homeowner with a straight run and flat ground, yes, a Delta fence is a doable weekend project. But corners, gates, and any post that has to fight a slope are where we get called in to fix what a Saturday afternoon started.

One other honest note: vinyl panels in Florida heat expand more than vinyl in most of the country. If you butt the panels too tight in February, they’ll buckle in August. If you gap them too wide in August, the February wind will sing through. That’s not a trick; it’s just a thing we’ve learned doing this in Orlando. If you’d rather we handle it, call (850) 427-6454 and Trevor or one of the techs will come out and give you a written number.
FAQs

In Orlando’s heat and humidity, a properly installed Delta vinyl fence lasts 20 to 25 years before the surface gets brittle and the posts start showing their age. A badly installed one can fail in five. The biggest lifespan factor is whether the posts were set deep enough for Florida soil.
If your fence is mid-life and you’re wondering whether to repair or replace, call (850) 427-6454 and we’ll walk it with you. Estimates are free.
Yes, if the rails are sound, a single cracked panel or a failed post can be swapped without replacing the entire fence. We’ll look at the channel width, the post condition, and the gate alignment before recommending what to swap and what can stay.

For a typical Orlando residential job, figure one to two days for removal and post setting, then a second day for panel installation and gate hardware. Weather can stretch that schedule, especially in the rainy season when concrete takes longer to set. We give you a real arrival window before we start.
We stock the common Delta panel sizes, post caps, and replacement gate hardware on the truck. The oddball pieces we order from the supply house, and we’ll tell you upfront what that lead time looks like. We can also work with KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone if your project touches other parts of the house.
If your Delta fence is leaning, cracking, or the gate won’t latch right, call (850) 427-6454 and schedule a free estimate. We’ll give you a written price and a written guarantee before any work starts. That’s the way we’ve done it since day one.
