Blanco Windows & Doors: The Orlando Owner’s Guide

If you have a Blanco window or door with a failing part in Orlando, we can match the component to your model, give you a written price, and install it correctly the first time. Most Blanco window and door hardware replacements we handle run $180 – $650 installed, depending on whether it’s a balance, hinge, roller assembly, locking mechanism, or seal set. The typical story we hear: a window suddenly won’t stay up, a sliding door sounds like it’s grinding gravel, or a lock no longer catches. Blanco built solid products, but Florida humidity and daily use take their toll on the mechanical bits long before the glass or frame gives out.

Which Blanco Models This Applies To

An open kitchen and dining area after a remodel

Blanco’s window and door lines span several series, and the part you need depends on which one you have. The most common Blanco windows in Orlando homes are single-hung and horizontal slider units, while their sliding glass doors show up frequently in 1990s and early 2000s construction. The critical thing to know: a balance assembly from a Blanco 1000 series window will not fit a 3000 series unit. The shoe profile, the spring rating, and the overall length differ. If you can find the model number, it’s usually on a small foil label on the inside edge of the sash or on the head jamb. No label? Measure the sash width and the visible glass height, and take a photo of the balance or hinge. That’s usually enough for our parts supplier to make a correct match.

On the OEM versus aftermarket question: Blanco original parts are well-made and worth the cost when you’re replacing a balance or a roller. But for things like weatherstripping and glazing bead, a quality aftermarket equivalent often performs just as well for less money. We’ll tell you which is which, and why, before you spend a dollar.

Signs Your Blanco Windows & Doors Is Failing

  • Window won’t stay up, or slams shut when you let go. The balance assembly has lost tension or a spring has snapped. In Orlando, we see this accelerate when windows face west and take years of afternoon sun.
  • Sliding door takes real effort to move, or makes a grinding noise. The rollers are worn flat or the bearings have seized. Florida humidity works its way into the roller housing and rusts the steel races.
  • Draft or heat you can feel around the sash edges. The weatherstripping has compressed or cracked. This is a common one on older Blanco windows that have baked through enough Orlando summers.
  • Lock won’t throw or the handle spins without engaging. The locking mechanism has stripped internally or the keeper alignment is off. This is a security issue, not just an annoyance.
  • Condensation or haze between the glass panes. That’s a failed insulated glass unit seal. The glass needs replacement, not just the hardware.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what we tell Orlando homeowners, in writing, before we start:

  • Window balance replacement: $180 – $320 installed, including the part, for a standard Blanco single-hung or double-hung sash.
  • Sliding door roller replacement: $240 – $450 installed, depending on whether the door is a two-panel or three-panel unit and how badly the track is worn.
  • Lock and handle replacement: $140 – $280 installed for most Blanco locking mechanisms and handle sets.
  • Weatherstripping and seal replacement: $120 – $350 installed, depending on how many windows or doors and whether the glazing bead needs re-sealing.
  • Insulated glass unit replacement: $280 – $650 installed per sash, depending on size, Low-E coating, and whether the sash is still square enough to accept a new unit.

Every price is the full number: part, labor, installation, and cleanup. We write it down before we touch the window, and it doesn’t change at the door. If the replacement part fails inside 365 days, we come back and make it right at no charge. That’s our 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s in writing on every job.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely remove a window sash and check whether the balance shoe is cracked or the pivot bar has snapped. That’s a five-minute inspection that tells us a lot before we arrive. What you shouldn’t do is try to replace a balance assembly yourself. Those springs are under constant tension, and when they let go, they take a chunk of your hand with them. A few years back, a College Park homeowner tried it, and we ended up repairing the window frame damage alongside the original repair. Give you the number first, then pick up the tool. Call (850) 427-6454 and we’ll give you a written quote.
